Committee Members
Our Pack Committee meets on the first Wednesday of the month
at 7:00 PM in Wozniak Hall. The committee sets the
Pack's calendar
and follows the BSA policies to the best of its abilities with the support
of its Scouters.

Pack Committee
-
Ensures that quality adult leadership is recruited and trained.
-
Recruits or selects the Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmasters as required.
-
Assigns a qualified Assistant Cubmaster when the Cubmaster is absent.
-
Assists in the selection of Den and Tiger Cub leaders.
-
Supports leaders in carrying out the scout program.
-
Is responsible for finances, adequate funds, and disbursements in line
with approved budget.
-
Obtains, maintains, and properly cares for pack property.
-
Assures the Cub Scouts have a year-round quality program.
-
Ensures the pack has an outdoor program that at least meets the requirements
for the yearly National Quality Unity Award.
-
Helps to stimulate the interest of the parents through a good program.
-
Supports the Cubmaster in working with Den Leaders.
-
Attends Cub Scout leader basic training, youth protection training, and
monthly roundtables.
-
Resolves problems that affect the overall pack program.
-
Provides assistance for the special needs some boys may require.
-
Helps with the Friends of Scouting campaign.
-
Assists with charter review and annual re-charter.

Advancement
-
Attends Cub Scout leader basic training, youth protection training, monthly
roundtables, and yearly powwows.

Acquires a working knowledge of the Cubs and Webelos advancement plans.
-
Encourages Scouts to advance in rank.
-
Maintains all Scout advancement records using the PackMaster 2000 software
package.
-
Reports to the scout council office, on the correct form, the scouts advancements.
-
Helps plan and conduct advancement ceremonies, Webelos crossings, and Tiger
Cubs graduations.
-
Coordinates the construction or acquisition of ceremonial advancement equipment.
-
Reports to the Pack Committee at each meeting.

Chairperson
-
Organizes the committee to see that all functions are delegated, coordinated,
and completed.
-
Maintains a close relationship with the chartered organization directly
or through the chartered organization representative.
-
Sees that new dens are formed when needed.
-
Selects with the assistance of the committee the Den and Tiger Cub leadership.
-
Conducts the annual pack program planning meeting.
-
Prepares pack committee meeting agendas.
-
Calls, presides over, and promotes attendance at monthly pack committee
meetings and any special meetings that may be called.
-
Provides a parent training program.
-
Assumes active direction of the pack, if the Cubmaster is unable to serve,
until a successor is recruited and commissioned.
-
Completes Cub Scout Fast Start training, Leader Basic training, and youth
protection training.
-
Attends monthly roundtables and yearly powwows.
-
Ensures pack representation at monthly roundtables.
-
Keeps the official pack roster using the PackMaster 2000 software.
-
Works with the St. Louis scheduler to provide adequate meeting facilities.
-
Develops and maintains a strong relationship with the Troop to graduate
the Webelos into it.
-
Helps to bring families together at joint Webelos den and Troop activities.
-
Arranges for charter review and annual re-charter.
-
Plans the charter presentation.
-
Reports to the Pack Committee at each meeting.

Communications
-
Completes Cub Scout Fast Start training, Leader Basic training, and youth
protection training.
-
Attends monthly roundtables and yearly powwows.
-
Coordinates with the Troop's communications person to provide articles
about scout activities to the parish publication "The Spirit of St. Louis".
-
Works with the Troop's webmaster to transform the Pack's web page into
a St. Louis Scouts web page covering both the pack and troop with links
to the sponsors.
-
Reports to the Pack Committee at each meeting.

Fund Raising
-
Completes Cub Scout Fast Start training, Leader Basic training, and youth
protection training.
-
Attends monthly roundtables and yearly powwows.
-
Chairs the popcorn sales every year.
-
Manages the money-earning projects that the committee approves, including
obtaining proper authorizations when required.
-
Reports to the Pack Committee at each meeting.

Outings
-
Attends Cub Scout leader basic training, youth protection training, monthly
roundtables, and yearly powwows.
-
Knows and carries out BSA outdoor program policy related to Cub Scouting.
-
Reviews all activities to ensure unit leaders comply with BSA policies
in the GUIDE TO SAFE SCOUTING.
-
Helps the Cubmaster plan and arrange for outdoor activities.
-
Secures permission to use camping sites.
-
Makes reservations as required and pays deposit fees.
-
Plans First Aid for emergencies.
-
Organizes the pack's attendance to summer Day and Resident camps.
-
Coordinates with the Troop to obtain the yearly permit to State Parks.
-
Promotes the National Camping Award and the National Summertime Pack Award.
-
Reports to the Pack Committee at each meeting.

Religious Coordinator
-
Completes Cub Scout Fast Start training, Leader Basic training, and youth
protection training.
-
Attends monthly roundtables and yearly powwows.
-
Is the counselor for the religious programs Light of Christ and Parvuli
Dei.
-
Encourages Cub Scouts to earn the religious emblems.
-
Coordinates Pack religious activities, specially the Scout Mass.
-
Reports to the Pack Committee at each meeting.

Secretary
-
Completes Cub Scout Fast Start training, Leader Basic training, and youth
protection training.
-
Attends monthly roundtables and yearly powwows.
-
Keeps and distributes minutes of the leaders' meetings
-
Distributes committee information as required.
-
Keeps track of the list of action items decided at the meetings.
-
Takes care of the pack correspondence and prepare letters as directed by
the chairperson.
-
Keeps and updates the pack calendar, and provides the information to the
Webmaster.
-
Develops and maintains the inventory of pack property.
-
Maintains pack manuals, videos, forms, and cub scout materials for use
by the leaders.
-
Reports to the Pack Committee at each meeting.

Treasurer
-
Completes Cub Scout Fast Start training, Leader Basic training, and youth
protection training.
-
Attends monthly roundtables, and yearly powwows.
-
Handles all pack funds. Pay bills as recommended by the Cubmaster or approved
by the Pack Committee.
-
Maintains checking and saving accounts.
-
Collects Cub Scouts dues from Den Leaders.
-
Keeps adequate records using the PackMaster 2000 financial software.
-
Documents the money-earning projects as approved by the committee.
-
Leads in the preparation of the annual pack budget.
-
Leads the Friends of Scouting Campaign.
-
Reports to the Pack committee at each meeting.

Cubmaster
The Cubmaster (referred as the Unit Leader) is the guiding hand behind
the work of other pack leaders and serves as program adviser to the pack
committee - a recruiter, a supervisor, a director, a planner, a motivator
of other leaders.
Everything the Cubmaster does is aimed at the individual boy. Securing
strong leaders, planning den and pack activities, advising other leaders
and parents - these are all ways in which the Cubmaster affects the kind
of Cub Scouting each boy in the pack is offered. Although the Cubmaster
is an executive position he has direct influence on the lives of individual
boys by keeping in mind that boys can be made better through Cub Scouting.
responsibilities:

Conducts a pack program according to the policies of the Boy Scouts of
America.

Completes Cubmaster Fast Start Training, Cub Scout Leader Basic Training,
and youth protection training.

Attends monthly roundtables and yearly powwows.
-
Plans, coordinates, and helps carry out the total Cub Scout program in
the pack.
-
Leads the monthly pack meetings with the help of other leaders.
-
Knows about and uses literature of the program, including BOY'S LIFE, SCOUTING
MAGAZINE, and CUB SCOUT and WEBELOS SCOUT PROGRAM HELPS.
-
Sees that the pack program, leaders, and Cub Scouts reflect positively
the interests and objectives of the chartered organization and the Boy
Scouts of America.

Works with the Pack Committee on program ideas, selecting and recruiting
adult leaders, and establishing a budget plan.
-
Assists the Pack Committee chairman in conducting the annual pack program
planning meeting and the monthly pack leaders' meetings.
-
Works as a team member with the Pack Committee chairman to cultivate, educate,
and motivate all pack leaders and parents in Cub Scouting.
-
Coaches and mentors Assistant Cubmasters to help them in their leadership
development.
-
Sees that the Assistant Cubmasters discharge their responsibilities.
-
Guides and Supports the den leaders. Sees that they receive the required
training for they position.
-
Works directly with the Tiger Cubs coordinator, the Cub Scout den leaders,
the Webelos den leaders, the den chiefs, the pack committee chairman, and
the committee members to make sure all dens are functioning well.
-
Sees that Cubs and Webelos receive a quality, year-round program filled
with fun and activities that qualify the dens and pack for the National
Summertime Pack Award.
-
Helps organize Webelos dens and encourage graduation into a Boy Scout troop.
-
Recruits Den Chiefs and for all dens, and recognizes the den chiefs at
pack meetings.
-
Conducts impressive Webelos den induction and Arrow of Light Ceremonies.
-
Assists in planning and conducting stimulating crossover ceremonies involving
Webelos den leaders, Webelos Den Chiefs, parents, Scoutmasters, and troop
junior leaders.
-
Helps bring families together at joint activities for Webelos dens and
Boy Scout Troop.
-
Encourages high advancement standards for Cub Scouts and Webelos.
-
Guides Cub scouts in goodwill and conservation projects.
-
Supervises the support to the Tiger Cubs group.
-
Meets with Tiger Cubs and their Adult Partners prior to graduation to discuss
Cub Scouting.
-
Conducts an impressive graduation ceremony for the Tiger Cubs.
-
Helps establish and maintain good relationships with Boy Scout troops.
-
Maintains good relationships with parents by seeking their support and
including them in activities.
-
Involves male relatives such as uncles and grandfathers so Cub scouts will
have additional male role models.
-
Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

Assistant Cubmaster
-
Completes Cub Scout Fast Start training, Leader Basic training, and youth
protection training.
-
Attends monthly roundtables, and yearly powwows.
-
Assists the Cubmaster as needed and is ready to fill in for the Cubmaster
if necessary.

Participates in pack meetings.
-
Helps inform pack leaders of training opportunities and arranges for them
to attend training sessions.
-
Works with the pack committee to develop and promote an ongoing plan for
recruiting mew boys.
-
Assists in pack activities.
-
Works with the pack committee on outings to see that Cubs and Webelos receive
a quality, year-round program filled with fun and activities that qualify
the dens and pack for the National Summertime Pack Award.
-
Participates in the annual pack program planning meeting and pack monthly
leaders' meeting.
-
Supports the policies of the Boy Scouts of America.

Cub Scout Den Leader
-
Gives leadership to planning and carrying out a year-round program of activities
for the den to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting.
-
Completes Cub Scout Fast Start training, Leader Basic training, and youth
protection training.
-
Attends monthly roundtables, and yearly powwows.
-
Establishes a close working relationship with the Assistant Den leaders
by coaching and mentoring them to help them in their leadership development.
-
Sees that the Assistant Den leaders discharge their responsibilities.
-
Leads the den in its participation at pack meetings. Serve as den host
or hostess for den parents at pack meetings.
-
Works in harmony with other den and pack leaders.
-
Cooperates with the Cubmaster an his assistant in recruiting new boys.
-
Works with the den chief to guide him in his work with the Cub scouts.
Sees that he receives recognition for his efforts at den and pack meetings.
-
Meets regularly with the den chief to allow him to help plan den meetings
and den activities, and lets him to serve as den activities assistant.
-
Provides meaningful jobs for the denner and assistant denner so they can
learn responsibility and gain satisfaction from their participation.
-
Uses BOYS' LIFE and SCOUTING magazines, CUB SCOUT PROGRAM HELPS, the boys'
program books, and other Cub Scouting literature as sources for program
ideas.
-
Collects weekly den dues and turn them to the pack's treasurer. Keeps accurate
records of den dues and attendance.
-
Maintains a friendly relationship with Cub Scouts; encourages them to earn
the advancement awards. Keeps accurate advancement records and sees that
the boys receive recognition for their advancements.

Stimulates the Cub scouts' imagination on the program theme for the month
and helps the den prepare its stunts and exhibits for the pack meeting.
-
Helps the den and pack earn the National Summertime Pack Award.
-
Develops a good working relationship with the den parents and families.
Uses their talent to help enrich the den program.
-
Holds den parents' meetings as often as needed to get acquainted and strengthen
den operation. Has open communications with den families.
-
Involves den fathers, uncles, and grandfathers in outings and other den
activities so boys will have additional male role models.
-
Sees that two deep leadership is always available for den meetings and
activities.
-
Participates in the annual pack planning meeting and monthly pack leaders'
meetings.

Sets a good example for the boys by behavior, attitude, and properly wearing

Webelos Den Leader

for the Webelos den to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting.

youth protection training, and Webelos Den Leader Outdoor training.

Attends monthly roundtables, and yearly powwows.

Establishes a close working relationship with the Assistant Webelos Den

Sees that the Assistant Webelos Den leaders discharge their responsibilities.

Develops a close working relationship with the Assistant Webelos den leader

Tiger Cub Coach

Parent Volunteers
In addition to the committee and pack positions that parents of scouts fulfill,
other parents support and help the pack go by volunteering to chair
various
pack activities.
Without the support of all of the parents in the various positions and
activities, it would not be possible to provide the sucessfull program
that St. Louis has to offer.
