FYI: Longhorn District Scoutmastership Fundamentals
Are you perplexed? Don't understand the advancement process? Can't answer your son's questions? Confused by all the terms? Are you a Scoutmaster with a bunch of willing adults, but no trained Leaders? Are you a Cub Scout Leader, who just wants to know what changes await next spring? Have we got the Program for you. We all go through this when we become adult leaders in the Boy Scout program. As a leader however, we are committed to bring the best possible program to the Scouts in our Troops. The only way we can fulfill our commitment is to be properly trained, know what we are talking about, and be able to deliver the program correctly.
The Longhorn District's fall basic training course for Boy Scout leaders, Scoutmastership Fundamentals, will be held September 21st, 28th, 30th and will conclude with an overnight campout on October 14th-15th. You must attend all four sessions. The classes will be held at Tarrytown United Methodist Church. The campout will be at Garrison Campsite at Lost Pines Scout Reservation.
The cost for the course is $25.00. You may register at the Scout Service Center or by contacting the Course Director Paul Kenny at 219-8827 or pkennytx@yahoo.com.
Scoutmastership Fundamentals will help all adult leaders be able to answer their son's questions, understand the Scouting program, and have fun at the same time.
